Christchurch at Christmas
What a great day yesterday when we launched Christmas in Christchurch with the much loved Santa and his reindeers plus a plethora of stars from stage screen and radio and of course our own Mayor pulling the switch to get the lights to twinkle. The High Street was packed with exited kids with their parents and grandparents making it a truly family day and a great start to the festive season. Certainly a huge number of people put Christchurch First yesterday and the ambiance was a million miles away from the doom and gloom portrayed in the nationals just about every day. All the volunteers and Community Groups that helped to make this day a real success should be congratulated as in my opinion they did Christchurch proud. From carols to rock and roll helped make Christchurch resonate with fun. From the Fountain round-a-bout to the Priory smiling faces and chattering kids and happy stall holders. Simply a great day.
