Consultation will commence next month on the prescribed transit and permanent traveller sites in Christchurch. I do hope that as many residents as possible contribute and respond to the consultation having visited the two exhibitions, dates and locations of which will be announced shortly. Central government appear to be convinced that by creating sites within our conurbation the problem of illegal sites will disappear and are apparently reluctant to enhance the laws of trespass. Time will tell if they are correct but meanwhile as government insists that communities should have their say, we should take the advantage of making our opinions known. I will be blogging to advise where residents can see the exhibitions and collect the required consultation documents.
Later:- Exhibitions will be at CBC on the 24th November from 5pm to 8pm and in the Monday market on 28th November from 10am to 2pm Consultation forms will be available.
Please do all you can to attend and express your views.
