Time is of the essence

Those of you who are regular readers of this blog will be slightly frustrated and concerned that I appear not to be blogging at my normal rate. I am highly conscious of this but frankly there is so much to do that finding the odd hour or so to write is proving very difficult. As last week there are just not enough hours in the day and no matter how I diary entry there is always something cropping up at the last minute or someone calling another meeting. Quite what is going to happen when I find the time to play golf I dread to think! However there are some real plus points coming out of this contribution not the least being how pleased I was at the last full Council meeting. The new Council got on with business in a very professional way and I was delighted that all port folio holders had in some cases their first chance to shine in describing their current role and objectives. Gratifying too was the way that CBC was again see to punch above it's weight in respect of the response to the potential closure of the Southampton children's heart unit. I think that it is right for us as a Council to be aware of these issues where although we as a Council are not one of the official consul tees,we do have a voice as and because our Borough is likely to be affected should this facility disappear. Well done CBC!
