Recycle bins at Stanpit Marsh

You may remember earlier in the year my attempt to get these bins moved to a more acceptable place fell on deaf ears at CBC. You may also remember that the reason given by the then leader was the fact that the bins produced enough recycle material to put them fifth in the overall league table of bin sites across the Borough. Notwithstanding the frightening fire which occured over the Christmas period and the plea from the residents living nearby. I have to say that I am awaiting a report from the fire authority as to the level of danger these bins represent to the residents in the house adjacent and will continue with my request to get them moved. So I was further exercised this weekend when the long suffering resident advised me that the bins were changed over ie the full ones replaced by empty ones at 4.30am on Saturday morning. The whole operation takes about 30 or so minutes and has been described as sounding like a huge army tank maneuvering in the car park. The whole house was awoken and kids frightened out of their tiny lives whilst the bins were swinging on rattling chains and thumped into place. Apparently the whole house shook and the nights rest destroyed. This alone has now compounded my opinion that these bins have to be moved. Even more so when CBC had to send out a special clearance squad as some challenged individual decided to fly tip just a few days earlier. Time is up on this site and on Monday I intend to re-energise the process of getting them moved.
