Eve of poll night

So that's it, the die is cast the canvassing over and I for one can rest sore and tired feet, that is until 7.0 am tomorrow when the democratic process starts in earnest. What I have appreciated is that we Conservatives have maintained the higher ground in all the discussions and without any doubt won the argument in terms of achievements made over the last four years and perhaps most importantly our vision for the future. The next four years are going to be just as tough as the last with concentration having to be directed at making sure we give a value for money service to our residents and balance our budget. This will require management, innovation and vision and a relationship with our community which ensures that we know what their priorities are. I know we can achieve even more for our community, I am certain that we can energise our community to be involved, be responsible and make Christchurch an even better place to live. So the rest is up to the electorate. I will not blog again until late Friday when the new Council is known. For me the last four years has been an amazing experience. I still believe that 'it's working for the community that gets the community working'
