Hopalong Nottage

To those of you that enquired after my health following my latest hip operation many thanks for your interest, I am well on the road to recovery but my walking is, shall we say a bit 'hopalong'. The recovery process will limit my mobility though and so I will be relying on the 'Conservative action team' including our latest recruit Caralyn Harris to do most of the footwork. Loads going on which I will bring to this blog over the next few days as I am working at about the same rate that I am walking. Concerns include the problems being experienced at the Stanpit SSSI and I understand some issues exist at Tuttons Well. Reaction to the latest speed data at Stanpit has been as expected but on an interesting note I had a glimpse of some historic data on traffic volumes along Stanpit. Whilst these figures are difficult to analyse, they do indicate a much reduced increase of flow than I was expecting and in some cases a total reduction, this has come as a bit of a surprise and requires further investigation which I will attend to over the next couple of weeks.
It could be that the removal of the Mudeford Lane vertical speed reducers in order to balance the flow of traffic has started to work! More on this later.
