The Politics Show 'picks up' on our dog pooh problem
I have just finished filming an interview with BBC TV who have picked up on CBC dog pooh policy regarding prosecution should perpetrators be caught allowing their dogs to defaecate in a public place and not picking up, more than once. The overall subject is to do with NUDGE which is David Cameron's initiative of getting communities involved in community decisions. I was able to explain that all the actions about this subject had emanated from community engagement particularly from PACT meetings across the Borough so CBC were in fact responding to the community who were making clear signs that this nasty habit was unacceptable. Notwithstanding the relevance to community pride which this littering indicates is missing in the irresponsible dog owner community. Interesting that BBC have chosen to talk to Christchurch and were then moving on to Poole where the Council have adopted a policy of marking dog pooh deposits for all to see. I think the no-nonsense approach by CBC is preferable. The Policy Show goes out every Sunday morning.
