Development in Stanpit
Those of you who like me are expressing frustration at the way developers are digging and re-digging the road and footpath opposite this site, causing traffic havoc and a total mess should spare a thought for the families who have had to endure the machinations of this development for the last six months. Not only have they been barricaded by diggers, fences and huge lorries they have been unable to gain access on occasions to their own homes. Let alone the constant noise and disturbance and continual uncertainty of when the contractors will finish or whether having finished digging for one service they will have to start digging again for another. A greater frustration is that these residents appear to have no redress for the affect on their wellbeing and finally have to suffer the indignity of living opposite the results of the inspectors opinion that this edifice enhances a conservation area. This after CBC planning control committee dismissed the scheme as not in keeping with the area with serious concerns about the site density. I think the planning process which results in this much disturbance for residents should be subject to scrutiny.

I agree with everything you say Councillor. However, all the residents had a chance to make their views known when the Inspector called a public meeting, which unfortunately was not supported by local residents.
The way that residents have been treated is not acceptable and has thrown up some real concerns about the whole planning process. I have sent a 'Councillor call for action' request to get the matter under scrutiny.
