Work at the Fountain Roundabout

If you read the Echo you will be aware that out of the blue DCC announces that the road surface of this busy interchange is breaking up and will require resurfacing sometime next year, probably in March. The Echo refers to a County Council spokesperson who must have given them the impression that the roundabout would also be subject to a redesign and they reported accordingly. The indication was that this would be to do with the improvement of the A35 corridor. I am informed that this is not the case and that any work carried out will be to repair the roadway only. So this means that design work directed to improve Christchurch's traffic issues will only be prioritised when funds are available. Any guesses as to when that will be? Answers on a post card please! !
