Traffic chaos in Purewell

Those of you who experienced the traffic chaos along Purewell this weekend and this morning may well ask why roadwork signs have been displayed for the last couple of weeks at the roundabout end, with no works actually being carried out.This was my question to County highways this morning following a frustrating 30 minutes trying to get to the council offices. Fortunately I my wife was giving me a lift so I was able to get out from her car and walk to my appointment otherwise I would have been late. She sat there for a further ten minutes or so. I am told that the potential or apparent roadworks are something to do with BT who have to decide how and what needs to be done. Meanwhile the residents are left to deal with the chaos, not something that I find acceptable so notice has been given to advise me what on earth is going on and when can the matter be resolved. As you know CBC are not now the authority on Highways, this now resides with DCC. I have to apply to Blandford where I presume someone has the concerns of residents of Purewell and Stanpit ward high on their agenda. You may read into this that I have concerns about this process and you would be absolutely right.
