Dog poo, why is this such a problem ????
Following the issue of PCN's to the same individual in two different locations for allowing dog fouling without bagging it, CBC have decided that in future a court action will proceed for all cases of multiple offence. This 'get tough' policy indicates how frustrated that despite all the campaigns and initiatives taken over the last couple of years we do not seem to be getting the message over to irresponsible dog owners that this is a nasty careless and anti social habit. Court fines could be as high as £1000 and reluctant though CBC is to take this action the continued complaints from residents indicate that something radical needs to be done to show a determination to make a difference and respond to residents continual concern. Not only about the fact that dog poo is horrible litter but it represents a health issue and illustrates a lack of community pride from the perpetrators. BBC are currently covering this story on their local website and I dare say you will be seeing headlines in the Echo. The message is simple if your dog defecates in a public place 'bag it and bin it' or take it home.
