Purewell Parking

I was delighted to see that my alternative scheme was accepted last night at the Community Services meeting. Proposed and excellently presented by the leader, members saw that this common sense approach was so much more empathetic to residents and met their concerns. I am delighted to report that this morning I received a number of calls thanking me for my efforts which I have to say was very gratifying. Seldom do we get acknowledgement for the work we do behind the scene.
Perhaps we can now concentrate on the next step which is to persuade County to look at the Purewell Cross junction with a view to making the area reflect the important gateway it is to all parts of Christchurch and improve safety for pedestrians and road users.
Finally this parking issue illustrated the importance of member involvement in projecting the concerns of residents and highlights how we value residents positive contribution. Those that visited me at my surgery or those that wrote and phoned expressing their opinions can be sure that they were listened to and that they contributed to the successful outcome.
Far better than sniping at Council!!!
