More good news

Just as we were getting used to the good news from the 'place survey' as covered in my previous blog on the Safe and Healthy port folio up pops the interim results of the Dorset Citizen's panel(CP) that give us an indication of how we are doing in Christchurch against 2008 results.(those in the place survey) And we can see even greater improvements in the fear of crime element( against those reported in the place survey) so prevalent some two short years ago. According to the CP 72.2% of residents feel very or fairly safe in their areas after dark (against 68% in the place survey)and a whopping great 92.6% during the day.For clarification, much of the Citizen's Panel survey is orientated around seeking residents' views of County Council services. However, all local authorities in Dorset are members of the Dorset Consultation Consortium, where Citizen's Panel results are shared and other consultation projects (including the Place Survey) are undertaken collaboratively.
There is also a whole section of the Dorset4U website devoted to the Citizen's Panel, where newsletters and results from previous and current surveys can be downloaded. The weblink is below.
