Back to work

Apart from the inconsistent weather it has been quite nice for the last couple of weeks to spend a bit of time recharging my batteries and finding time for a bit of relaxation. That is not to say there has been nothing going on, quite the opposite. Matters arising have to be attended to and projects monitored. I have blogged about the ASB situation about which I have been advised daily but on the bright side I watch the development of the 2RM facility running at a pace and am very exited that we should be cutting the tape in the very near future. This facility which includes a new BMX park and all weather pitches will be a welcome addition for the youngsters of Christchurch and personally I can't wait to see it in operation. Added to this is the new Quomps Splashpark, which will get underway now that planning permission has been agreed, so by the middle of next year we will have honored our commitment as a council to the play facilities and given real value added to our community. Stanpit Marsh management plan will be tabled in October and those of you that walk the walk over the marshes can see that the improvements made to the bridges are symptomatic of what can be achieved with a bit of imagination and drive. All in all a good summer of achievement especially for Purewell and Stanpit in particular but overall a good result for Christchurch Borough.
