Locality working crime and disorder initiatives.

All of the residents of Christchurch will be receiving, if you have not already done so, a copy of the Courier the six monthly Christchurch magazine. This months issue of this excellent publication, much loved I have to say by all who I have spoken to contains something which I am very proud about. There is an advertisement asking any organisation or individual in Christchurch Borough who wants to develop any initiative to improve crime and disorder and wants funding for the project, to advise CBC and apply for CDRP locality working funding. I have obtained a small pot of money which is designated for use use at a local level and which can be used for various crime/ community related projects. Clearly the projects will have to be carefully scrutinised and assessed to make sure they make a difference and monitored through to some sort of completion. My aim is to try and get communities and individuals to take some responsibility for initiatives which will or can improve theirs and the community as a whole.A bold venture but one that I have hung my hat on and persuaded my Police partners that it could be money well spent. Lets see how it goes!

Councillor, I believe we are supposed to have a dedicated Police Officer in our ward. I regularly see a Police Officer, and a PCSO walking around the town centre, and I have seen similar in Jumpers.
Why is it that we don't appear to have one in this area. We have a very good PCSO who is always around, butwe never, ever see a POlice Officer. Is there a reason for this.
