Partnership working Burton and Purewell
Whilst canvassing I was told of a footpath that crosses over from Burton and Grange ward and Purewell and Stanpit. Although well trodden it was also being used as a bit of a dumping area and for some reason the more challenged among us had used it for smashing bottles. In short it was in a right state and my resident was quite rightly not happy.Coincidentally Councillor David Jones who is County Council candidate for Grange was being told a similar tale of woe by one of his concerned residents.Twenty four hours later and in partnership, David and I had Street Clean dept. on site and sweeping. The result is now evident to all and a great example of how by good and strong partnership, things like this can get done quickly and efficiently. My resident was delighted David got a big thank you and whilst the clean up was a bit overdue, we acted just as soon as we were advised of the problem.Perhaps you are noticing that this is a very positive story where residents and Councillors can work in unison, bringing the community together. It would be nice to see a similar approach from our opposition who appear from their literature, to be bent on community division.
