Traffic Calming

Yesterday Pc Joel Brooks, myself, CPSO Martin Sparkes and David Nelson from CAMRA spent a happy hour at the new traffic calming system monitoring what was happening. Our conclusions were that the scheme appears to have slowed traffic down considerably. Some drivers appear to have difficulty understanding the signage but all in all we thought the affect good and an excellent contribution to the village. Just as an aside if we can get some action now in respect of the crossing at Purewell I think we will have gone a long way in answering residents complaints about this part of Stanpit. This was based on taking decisions that favour residents rather than those passing through and making it clear that Purewell and Stanpit has an identity.Look out for a Press article shortly.
