Purewell Cross memorial
A group of kids were using the memorial garden as a play area yesterday. Whilst they were boisterous and showing off I don't think they had a criminal intention, more like showing off. However I got a call and attended just as the police arrived and a very elderly gentleman who was giving them some verbal about their behaviour. Well done to him, I checked that he had been treated with respect and although a bit angry he was satisfied that the police arrived quickly and grateful for my concern. Whilst I want to see the kids have a good time I do not think this area is suitable for raucous play and told them so. If more of us do the same as that gentleman perhaps we can get the kids to understand why we have these rememberance gardens and that they should treat the area with dignity. We have images of them all on CCTV.
